Our Story

The Young family at their blueberry farm

Welcome to Young's Blueberry U‑Pick Farm, a family-owned farm where generations of care go into every bush and every berry.

Founded in 1986 by Jerry and Betty Young, our farm has been rooted in the same simple mission for nearly four decades — blueberries & blessings. What began as a small family planting has grown into a beloved local tradition.

We've been growing premium blueberries for our community, offering a wholesome outdoor experience where families can come together, enjoy the sunshine, and pick the freshest berries straight from the bush.

Our farm spans acres of carefully tended blueberry fields, with multiple varieties ripening throughout the season so there's always something sweet to pick.

Our Blueberry Varieties

We grow three rabbiteye varieties — a single row of Brightwell, plus a mix of Climax and Tifblue, with the majority of our bushes being sweet, dependable Tifblue.

🫐

A Single Row

Brightwell

Our single row of Brightwell rabbiteye berries are firm, sweet, and a customer favorite for snacking right off the bush.

Mid Season
🫐

Mixed Rows

Climax

Scattered through our mixed rows, Climax ripens early with deep color and a classic, slightly tangy blueberry flavor.

Early Season
🫐

The Majority

Tifblue

The backbone of our farm — most of our bushes are Tifblue, prized for their large, sweet berries and long, productive harvest.

Blueberry Picking Tips

1

Look for Deep Blue

Ripe blueberries are deep blue with a dusty white coating called "bloom." If they're reddish or green, leave them to ripen.

2

Gentle Roll

Gently roll ripe berries with your thumb — they should drop right into your hand. No tugging needed!

3

Come Early

Beat the heat! Morning hours are cooler and the berries are at their firmest and freshest.

4

Store Right

Don't wash until ready to eat. Store unwashed berries in the fridge for up to 10 days, or freeze for months.

🧁 What Will You Make?

From pies and cobblers to smoothies and jam — fresh-picked blueberries make everything better. Take home a bucket and get creative!
